Cobalt Hospital Break Record for Flu Jabs

Cobalt Hospital Break Record for Flu Jabs

Tuesday 17 April 2018

Every year, staff at Cobalt Hospital are offered a flu vaccination to keep the flu virus at bay.

We are delighted to announce that we have smashed our previous record for staff flu vaccinations at work thanks to the help of our dedicated Matron.

Heather Robinson, Matron at Cobalt Hospital who was responsible for rounding up staff and administering the flu vaccination decided to educate hesitant staff about the vaccine to increase this year's numbers, she said: “Staff were offered information about the flu vaccine to enable them to make an informed choice. This year had the highest staff uptake of the vaccination and enabled us to exceed our target."

All staff who received the vaccine were entered into a prize draw. Congratulations to our Housekeeper, Karen Gilchrist who receieved a bottle of champagne.

Heather added: “Karen had opted for the vaccine for the first time this year and was relieved at how easy and painless it was, suffering no side effects."

Staff at Cobalt Hospital hope to continue with the trend and believe next year will be another record breaking success.
